Occasional Cinema: Theeb

Date: Thursday, 28th January 2016
Time: 7:00 pm

Occasional Cinema returns to Blue Sky, showing independent and critically acclaimed films you’re unlikely to have seen in the cinema!     This month’s multiple award winning film ‘Theeb’ has been described as “a jewel” (Huffington Post) and “a classic adventure of the best kind” (Variety).

In the Ottoman province of Hijaz during World War I, a young Bedouin boy, Theeb, experiences a greatly hastened coming of age as he embarks, uninvited but eager for adventure, on a perilous desert journey with his elder brother Hussein to guide British officer Edward and his guide Marji to their secret destination.

“Led by an outstanding performance from Jacir Eid Al-Hwietat in the title role, Theeb is a startlingly assured first effort from British-born director Naji Abu Nowar. “(Rotten Tomatoes, 96% Postitive Reviews)
